The start of "Billy Mahoney".
This was the first project I got to sink my teeth into. I should always do comedy but it never seems to last. I had figured out how to write a skit/scene from script writing books over the years and borrowed a camera from my friend LT. "Billy Mahoney" started out as an 11 minute short comedy and was entered in Ron Bonk's "B-Movie" film Festival and won in the "1999 Best Short Comedy Film" category. That then sparked me to extent the film to a 22 minute comedy.
I took the film to Los Angeles in the 2000 Angelciti Film & Music Festival where my screening got sabotaged by the producer of a Tim Daly movie called "Seven Girlfriends". Due to a multi-million dollar produced film against a $300 comedy video, they had say over the rescheduling. They blatantly wanted to use my audience for whatever their reasons. My film was supposed to be screened at 8 pm and Tim Daly's film was scheduled for after mine and the crowd I carefully put together of friends and industry contacts had mostly left before my film cuz "Seven Girlfriends ran as a feature. People planned on seeing my 22 minute comedy but they left after Daly's debacle. A lot of wasted time and money lost during that long week.

"Billy Mahoney" The comedy series.
I began exploring Time Warner Cable and their public access program and started running my "Billy Mahoney" series on that station along with some random videos that I shot in California. This also created momentum for me to contact an old acquaintance in Boston, Jay Lasoff, whom I knew from working on some Don Wilson action movies. Jay helped me edit my projects and influenced me to get a computer so I would stop "bothering" him and that I could edit my own films.
